12 BASIC STICK STRIKES
All strikes presume a single stick held in the right hand.
Horizontal strike from right chamber (over right shoulder) toward the side of the opponent’s head, following through to left shoulder (reverse chamber).
Horizontal strike from reverse chamber (over left shoulder) toward the side of the opponent’s head (backhand strike), following through to right shoulder (standard chamber).
Diagonal strike from right chamber down onto opponent’s left shoulder, following through and circling back up to reverse chamber.
Diagonal strike from reverse chamber down onto opponent’s right shoulder, following through to a hip-level chamber on the right.
Thrust angled slightly upward toward opponent’s belly, retract to a reverse waist-level chamber as you pivot to the left, so your right shoulder is facing your opponent.
Backhand thrust angled slightly upward toward opponent’s belly, retract to a standard chamber as you pivot back toward the right.
Swing stick down in a circular motion to strike at the opponent’s left knee and follow through the arc back to a reverse chamber at left shoulder.
Swing stick down to strike at the opponent’s right knee and follow through the arc back to a standard chamber.
Drop tip of stick down and thrust to opponent’s left pectoral retracting stick to left shoulder, pivoting left so right shoulder faces opponent.
Rotate stick and perform a backhand thrust to opponent’s left pectoral, pivoting right and retracting stick to standard chamber.
Overhead strike to crown of opponent’s head, following through and circling back to a reverse chamber.
Backhand overhead strike to opponent’s head, following through and circling up to a standard chamber.
